Disability Assistance

We welcome guests with disabilities and will do all we can to ensure a safe and fun visit, so that you are able to participate in as many activities as possible.

EARLY ENTRY

At our Comic Con events we are pleased to offer an early entry pass so that you can enter the event at 9.30am, half an hour before everyone else. This is so you can look round or acclimatise to the event in a much quieter atmosphere. This option is open to anyone who feels that it may benefit them, and of course extends to the family or friends who are attending with them.

However, PLEASE do not apply for this just to get in early. It is for people who feel it would help them, and we want to ensure that the event stays quiet and uncrowded so that it does actually achieve its goal.

In order to apply for early entry all you need to do is email us at extrahelp@strikingevents.com and put EARLY ENTRY in the subject line. Please then let us know you would like to apply for early entry, which show and date for, and a name to put on the list.

Please note that everyone attending early entry must have a ticket for the event before arrival (walk ups will need to wait until front desk is open)

ESSENTIAL COMPANION

All visitors require a ticket to the event, but in the case of those who need extra help from someone else, we are pleased to offer an ESSENTIAL COMPANION ticket for free. You can apply for an essential companion ticket if you have an Access Card with a +1 or +2 symbol on it, showing the need for the extra companion.

ACCESS CARD

An Access Card can be applied for via their website here. The card allows us to quickly identify a persons needs, without having to ask intrusive or personal questions.  It enables those who need some extra help to get it without any fuss, making the day a better experience.

APPLYING FOR ESSENTIAL COMPANION TICKET

Complete your order that must include an adult ticket to attend an event and then please email extrahelp@strikingevents.com with the subject matter ESSENTIAL COMPANION. Please then include a photo of your Access Card with the +1 or +2 symbol on it and the name and date of the event you are applying for. We will then be able to email you an Essential Companion ticket free of charge for that event.

If you do not have an Access Card with a +1 or +2 symbol on it, or have a temporary disability due to an accident or recent operation, then we will also review these applications on a case by case basis.  Simply send us an email to the extrahelp address with a basic explanation to outline the need for extra support from another person.  Please consider doing this only if the need is significant and substantial, and in excess of what could be reasonably expected from family and / or friends who may also be attending.

Essential Companion tickets are designed so that a companion can provide needed assistance to the principal ticket holder to enjoy their experience at the event, as such the Essential Companion Ticket is not recognised as a full event ticket, and does not provide the user access to any additional paid activities unless required to be there with the principal ticket holder to assist with their own purchases.  This is especially true for events that include autograph signings and guest photo shoots, should the companion wish to partake in event activities such as buying an autograph or have their own individual photo with a guest, it is expected that they purchase their own event ticket to keep things fair for all attendees at the event.

Please note that Essential Companion tickets are not available for anyone under 16 years of age as they would require parental or guardian supervision to attend the event.

EXTRA HELP AT THE EVENT

We recognise that not everyone who needs extra help also needs an Essential Companion. Therefore, if you require any extra help at the event then please speak to a member of crew and they will work with you to provide the best solution to ensure you are able to enjoy your day and overcome any specific issues.  At events that have additional activities that require the need to queue or stand for periods of time, additional help will be provided for those who need it and details on this will be provided on those speific event pages/sites.
